Update:my mom and aunt is coming tomorrow!!! Which means mummy dearest is going to feed me and we can go shopping (that's what we do best). Still haven't decided where to go for holiday yet. We're thinking Istabul, Monoco, Germany and Poland. I also have a Benchers interview tomorrow at Lincoln's Inn and my Uni Graduation is this Friday. My call date is 22nd November then I'll be officially working "behind the bar". Drinks anyone?

Is it ok to discriminate? Discrimination comes in many forms; race, sex, religion, status and etc. I hate being discriminated yet, at the same time notice I'm doing the same. It's everywhere and it's hard to avoid in this era. I don't believe in the "everyone is born equal" crap. Everyone is different hence there's discrimination.

I admit even I discriminate sometimes. For example, if I see a black guy (forgive me for the use of words), dressed dodgy, carrying a big bag pack and walking into the tube station with me, I would glance and wonder if there's a bomb it in. I wouldn't suspect as much if it's a Chinese guy. I know it's bad to discriminate but after series of failed bombing since the London Bomb attack, I can't help but stereotype certain people when I'm out in the public just to be cautious.

Yet, I sit here, a hypocrite, complaining about other forms of discrimination thrown at me. Like when I sent my University application for my Masters (I won't say the name of the Uni here), the admin people insist that I needed to do an English test. Yet, on paper it says "no test needed if English is your first language".

Seriously, is it so hard to comprehend that someone of a different race and of different country cannot have English as their first language? I mean, I was talking to her with perfect English (yes, even my "lah" slag was out of the door). This is how the conversation went:

You need to take an English test to apply.

I don’t think so. I’ve never had to take an English test for my Undergrad or my Postgrad.

Ok. So what is your first language?

English.

No, I mean when you go back home, what language do you speak in?

English?

No, I mean when you think, what language do you think in?

English!

So, what language do you speak to with your parents?

English!!

.....it went on and on and I thought, sod it! I'm taking my application form away and not applying to this Uni. I mean, was I speaking to him in Japanese? Martian? Plutorian? Or is he from a totally different planet? I've answered him "English" so many times, it doesn't seem to register in his hollow head! I wonder which small town is he from. How hard is it for him to comprehend that CHINESE CAN SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH?! Jerk, I think if I stayed there long enough, he'll start asking what language does my Grandma speaks in and he’ll go "Ha!! Not English. So it's not your first language then!"

Bullocks!

And why when I go to clubs, men associate Asian women as being exotic! Makes us sound like we're some fruit or animal. I hate that word! You don't go around saying you have an "exotic friend". Makes it sounds like you're friends with some porn star even!

But there are times I enjoy looking stupid for the first five minutes looking like I don't understand a single word of English, then talk to them in perfect English sentence. Their face; priceless. Do they not have some sense of logic? If we are students, surely we could comprehend some English or else how are we to study and listen to lectures in English? Stupid!

Then, the work discrimination. Out of all the job application forms I sent out, 7/10 of them have a discrimination form. Which means you have to list down your ethnicity in a different form and send it as a separate sheet so show that IF THEY DO HIRE YOU, IT'S PURELY BASE ON YOUR CV. Bullshit! First of all, it's all formality purpose to show that the company doesn't look discriminative on the surface. When I check the companies website, I can only see one person standing out in the whole company. But my example is only base on one company website I've seen because the rest of the company doesn't have much information to share regarding their staff. Still, I don't believe people hire purely base on CV. You send them your pictures and they judge if you look decent enough for the interview. Surely, people do judge a little bit base on looks. Then, when you go for interview, they wanna see how well you sell yourself or bullshit. But this is only the end process....what if you didn't get through from the beginning?

Then, it's the whole issue about gender discrimination. I'm not a hardcore feminist. I'm just stating my point of view. Why is it that most of the 1st Class Honour students are female yet the people sitting on the top position are all men? What happen in between?

And my final ranting, age discrimination. Sometimes I get the "are you still in high school?" question. Flattering? Yes, of course. But it's not funny when you have all your friends going into clubs and the bouncer suddenly stops you for ID! Mr. Bouncer, I've put on my sexiest outfit, thickest makeup and still you want to stop me for ID?! Why don't stop all my other friends. So fine, I gave him my student card with my date of birth printed on it. He's still not satisfied. Mr. Bouncer still not happy with life. He then asked me for the most ridiculous...my PASSPORT!! Can you believe it? Passport!! This happened a few times already, not the same club though. Who goes clubbing with their passport?!! Of course I'm unhappy.

You stopped me despite allowing the rest of my friends in...fine!

You asked me for my ID while others are patiently/ impatiently waiting behind me in a long que...fine!

You then ASK me for my passport when I don't even have a bag on me...NOT FINE!

Where did you think I kept my passport? I know my ass is flat but it's not there. My boobs ain't flat so it ain't there too. In fact, my whole back is bare I couldn't have possibly put on a bra. Does he really expect me to keep my passport hiding in my underwear?! STUPID BRAINLESS COW!

I'm so bitter about life. Help!
